yeah yeah yeah...

I'll update the blog eventually...right now i'm too busy fishing!!! the fall bite is in full effect and we're catching some unbelievable fish right now. here in 3 weeks the weather will turn for the worse and i'll spend my weekends blogging instead of fishing....i'm cringing at the thought

One of my favorite days on the water

October 3rd 2010- With the 2010 season drawing to a close we've been anxious to get out on the water and put a wrap to a fantastic year of fishing. Dawson finally let me come out and fish the pond at his father in laws house. I scooped up Dotson and Mikey, all 3 rocking nasty hangovers, and proceeded to test our luck at catching the rumored Cats, Bass and Stripers that inhabit the pond. This was the beginning of the now famous "swine rig." Basically, you take chunks of stinky, thick cut bacon and rig it up under a bobber. Cats LOVE it. We casted a few swine rigs out and then started fishing various artificial baits. Right away Dotson hooks up with this nice Largemouth Seconds later I nailed a personal best 31" blue cat. It took a mighty struggle and i almost fell in the water trying to land this giant. Within minutes Mikey ferociously sets the hook on a pig. Fighting it we all thought it was a catfish. I grabbed the net to land it and we were shocked when we saw it was a monster striped bass! Mikey poses for what is one of my favorite fishing pictures of all time This pace continued on as we caught numerous fish throughout the day. It was an absolute blast. The bite slowed down and we were getting ready to call it a day. Right as we were getting ready to leave Dotson got a bite and rushed over to his rod. JUMPSET!!! Dotson came out of his shoes with the patented Eric Dotson Jumpset technique and capped off an awesome day with this monster bluecat
